Scottsdale Medical Imaging, Ltd (SMIL) has been dedicated to the diagnostic needs of our community since 1980, now operating 11 outpatient imaging centers and providing radiology services to Scottsdale Healthcare’s three hospitals. SMIL is comprised of 44 board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists in the specialized areas of Interventional Radiology, Cardio/Thoracic Imaging, Women’s Imaging, Orthopaedic Imaging, Cancer Imaging, NeuroRadiology, and Pediatric Radiology. Our physicians provide expertise in all imaging modalities and our full-service imaging centers are fully accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a blood disorder resulting from the formation of a blood clot (thrombus) inside a deep vein of the leg, commonly located in the calf or thigh. DVT occurs when the blood clot either partially or completely blocks the flow of blood in the vein. Patient symptoms include pain, swelling, and discoloration.
